Support to the development of management practices favoring school governance in Togo


Description

C2D designed and organized professional workshops under its international consultant training program. The training’s content was based on a tailor-made skills development framework for all consultants who work in a foreign context. The program included a true work experience, where school management professionals from Quebec participated in a project to support their counterparts in Togo, in order to promote governance at a local level.

Two of the main objectives were to put into practice skills related to a consultancy assignment, and to identify good practices and innovations in school governance that improve working conditions for school teams as well as student learning conditions, thanks to successful initiatives implemented by the school leaders.

The teams shared their know-how, in order to stimulate reflection and put their resources in common within a network of qualified professionals. This project was supported by the Ministry of Primary, Secondary Teaching and Literacy (MEPSA) of Togo and conducted in partnership with the Quebec Federation of School Principals (FQDE), the National Commission for UNESCO in Togo and the Togolese Federation of UNESCO Associations, Centers and Clubs (FTACU).
